Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari
4.0
This is one of those books that I’d heard so many good things about, and I understand why. It’s a fascinating read (or in my case, listen) and more importantly, I found it to be increasingly thought provoking.
I found the first couple of chapters captivating. As the chapters progress and we go through the timeline of man, I found it interesting, but admittedly, not as much as the beginning. However the chapter on God… just excellent, I loved it. The questions he raises and the things he makes you think about are spot on.
Ultimately there’s only so much you can cover in a 500 or so page book about the history of mankind, but I think it’s a great introductory summary of the key moments in our evolution. It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but I really liked this one! 4 stars for me
