Power Plays & Straight A's by Saxon James, Eden Finley

2.0

I liked the concept, but the book just didn't deliver for me at all. I rated two stars because the writer is clearly very good however a character in this book was just completely unrealistic. I just couldn't figure him out, he almost seemed autistic? Yet no mental impediment is mentioned. And yet if his social ineptitude is merely just a personality trait the character doesn't experience growth and development. I understand social anxiety, but I just couldn't wrap my head around this. Not to mention as soon as the MC's get kinky all of a sudden all his usual traits are flown out the window and he's suddenly a confident, sensual person? I couldn't buy it. I liked the other MC though so that was something. The book overall was just very tiring and unrealistic. However, if you are a huge huge fan of the anxious socially-awkward nerd and popular jock trope then have a go at it. It made me laugh a bit.
