The Hummingbirds' Gift: Wonder, Beauty, and Renewal on Wings by Sy Montgomery

3.0

This audio book was a very quick and fluffy listen, needed on a long day spent using my noggin. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this book, but I wouldn’t tell someone to avoid it at all costs.
Lessons learned:
-it’s curious how some people will care for struggling animals more than they will care for human beings
-as a human, I have the tools to help more-than-human creatures. And when I see an ailing animal, it is my duty to help! (Just the same as when I see a person in pain)
-should I pursue research on artists who talk about their connection to land, I could reach out to Brenda Sherburn
-hummingbirds are radiantly colored because their feathers reflect and refract sunlight. Thus, under different lighting, hummingbirds change their pigment. They are shape shifters!
