I like Carrie Ryan's take on zombies. It actually makes you think about the people they once were and feel for what they've lost. I like how her story was realistic in many aspects, though I do not understand how Mary could've possibly survived a bajillion zombie attacks. I also don't like how two guys ALWAYS have to fight over the heroine, while her best friend, though obviously more attractive, gets no one. But I guess that's what makes it interesting. I also think she should've made Harry sound more appealing and attractive. Because seriously, I imagined him to be kinda fat with weird facial hair and an ugly ponytail. Ew. I really did want him to be hot! Sad.

I really disappear into books when I'm reading and I really feel like I can sympathize with the characters. And this book really made me feel that pinch that I always feel when emotionally overwhelmed. I guess I really felt the pain, the hopeful sorrow and that big jumble and conflict of emotions going on inside every one of the characters. Even the dog. HAHA. I liked how "The Forest of Hands and Teeth" made me realize how truly blessed I am. It gave me newfound appreciation for life, and has opened my eyes to beautiful things I never knew were there before.

Overall, it's a good book. I think I want to read "The Dead-Tossed Waves" now. I think I'll like Gabry a lot more.
