A Clubbable Woman by Reginald Hill

3.0

I picked this up because of a book haul video I saw on YouTube. Published in 1970, the beginning of a 23 book series. I'm a bit ambivalent about it.

The story centers around a local Rugby Club's star, Sam Connon. After getting hit rather hard in the head, enough for a concussion, he goes home to his wife, Mary. Connon briefly sticks his head into the living room to check on Mary, who watching TV, barely acknowledges him. Connon goes up to bed to sleep off the ache in his head. Connon wakes up the next morning to find his wife dead.
