Fredrik Backman looks into the souls of his characters. He shares what makes them tick and what makes them stay in our thoughts long after finishing his books. This story was deeply heartbreaking and speaks as to why victims of sexual abuse don't speak out and name their attacker(s). It also touches on hero worship and how public perception can allow unacceptable behaviors to pass.
