This I believe was my first Jade West book and I admit this book was purchased solely on the cover and the fact that I heard a recommendation for it because he was “pierced” if you catch my drift lol.
This is a story about 2 tortured souls, Abigail & Leo. They have a troubled past and there’s reasons why they are the way they are (which I’m not going to spoil in this review) but one night, after being tormented by her dreams, Abigail goes online and seeks out a monster in the darkness and she meets Pheonix.
This is a hunter & prey type of story. It’s very plot heavy and the spice is pretty repetitive. It involves involves “r@pe-like” scenarios which is a HUGE TW. If you can’t read about forced sex then this book is definitely not for you. Please check your trigger warnings!!
I gave this book 3.75 stars because again it is very plot heavy. Very dark, very emotional and I guess I expected a little different based on the reviews I got. I did, however, enjoy it very much.
As far as the spice scale goes.. I gave it a 3.5/5 because of only one type of spice being used.
This book can also be qualified as a romantic thriller.. it does have that thriller aspect to it. Overall, I liked it. Not bad for my first Jade West book.
