We girls are taught from an early age that we are demonstrably inferior to our male counterparts. We are smaller, weaker, stupider. When we succeed, it’s only because men allow us to.”

We support women’s rights, and women’s wrongs; but most importantly, we support women getting therapy instead of eating eyes in the middle of the night.

This book was wild from start to finish, and I’m not sure any words I can muster would do the experience of reading this enough justice.

I’m a big fan of female rage/revenge stories, and this was certainly one of the better ones! Kim does an excellent job at helping you feel for Ji-won and everything her and her family are going through, even when you know you’re rooting for the “bad guy”.

And the descriptions for some of the gorier scenes…it had my stomach churning. I’m once again very glad to not be a meat-eater!

I read this as part of a buddy read with some incredible people;
A brilliant choice, but let’s steer clear of eyes for the next one at the very least 👀😂
