There are a lot of gems in here! Bell Hooks always gives me plenty to think about. I highlighted many passages to revisit and I particularly resonate with the idea of making love an action & a constant practice. But I knocked off a full star for the frequent use of “female” and “male” when she means “woman” and “man” & for the book’s ultimate descent into religion. I’ll give it this: she speaks about general spirituality and religions other than Christianity, but discussion of the Bible really picked up at the end & I skipped the entire last chapter because it was about angels. I know many people would respond well to that but…I am not one of those people.
