The Woman in Me by Britney Spears

emotional relaxing sad

Heartbreaking & beautiful.

I absolutely loved Britney’s book. I think it is so important & powerful she finally got to tell the world her side of the story after all these years.

I have so many takeaways from this book. The biggest ones being:
-Even though she is & was the most famous woman in the world I found so much of her story to be extremely relatable: how she talked about & described pregnancy & motherhood, being a chronic people pleaser, & several other stories & analogies throughout.
-Britney deserves the world & I hope that this book can help other people who are in abusive conservatorships.

I enjoyed learning about her childhood, growing up in the industry from her perspective, what music she liked performing best, what songs meant the most, & I really loved hearing her POV on some of her most iconic pop culture moments. On the other hand it was heartbreaking to learn about her horrible family & how terrible the media was to her.

I think that this book really sheds light on the fact that you genuinely have no idea what someone is going through so it is best to lead with kindness. I think people, the media, fans, haters, everyone will feel extremely guilty for ever calling Britney “crazy” or “unhinged” or “having a breakdown” because she was going through things the world did not know about & the media was definitely not on her side.

I wish her a lifetime of happiness & healing. I think anyone would like this book & it will leave you thinking deeply on more than one occasion. Phenomenally done.
