Hearing about this book I was intrigued, because the main guy Callahan is a firefighter š, but he is not a normal firefighter he is part of a hotshot crew (firefighters that specialize in wildfires) and our main girl Scottie is an EMT. They both work in fields helping people and saving lives, so they have that in common and I thought āgreat its all gonna be an easy girl meets boy they fall in love and we have a good time readingā. I was wrong, Callahan has severe c-ptsd from watching two of his crew die and Scottie is running away from a cult like church in Arkansas and hopes settling down in Sky Ridge will help her gain independence and figure out who she really is in life. At first everything is going well. They meet hit it off and the relationship is looking up but then ⦠the bane of my existence occurs a MISCOMMUNICATION. And after that they canāt stand each other (so stupid) and they avoid each other at all costs till they get stuck in a hiking trail during a storm and have to take shelter in a watch post cabin for 5 days and they resolve everything and promise to talk through their problems and concerns (like adults) in the future and yeah.
It was fun read nothing groundbreaking and I HATE a miscommunication, like a really HATE it so I had to deduct some stars but it was cute to read and itās part of a series and I will be reading the other books because the other men Cals friends seem a lot more interesting than Cal and I wanna know their storiesš¤£.
