Spare by Prince Harry

3.5 leaning to 4.
I struggled with this one. I think I really wasn't prepared for the length. I found the stories engaging, though. His reading was... Monotone and rough. But I could appreciate what he was trying to say and convey.
This book was heartbreaking. From someone that knows literally nothing of the Royal Family, this book was a bit of a shock. I've never really cared for them, nor was really interested. That being said, the choice he and Meg made was scary. Brave. Inspiring.
The themes of death, resurrection, and life that played out through this novel were beautiful. Hearing the stories as he grew and grew up from the perspective of the time they occurred was also interesting. Like the stories of younger him were written with a whiny, rich boy voice. But as he grew, rumbled and reckoned with his life, they did a good job of portraying that growth in the word choice, dialogue, chosen stories, etc.
I really enjoyed this. Far more than I thought I would.
