I've said in other reviews that poetry is hard to rate since it's subjective. I have mixed feelings about this book and ultimately gave it a 3.5, rounded up to a 4.
It's somewhere between poetry and thoughts from a diary, still managing to be compelling for me and it really does feel heartfelt and genuine. The doodles are a nice touch and do enhance some pages, though they're not immediately necessary to understand and interpret some of the pages. I do wish there had been more of the poetry in the book though, the short two-three sentences on a page are lovely presentation wise but think of the trees.
