Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

3.0

I liked this one slightly less than the first one, only because this was so riddled with TEEN LOVE DRAMA in the second half I wanted to expire. I love the concept of the Kings second son going after the throne, who isn't totally evil, and the actual heir isn't evil either, but I guess the subvert of that trope would never be since Vasily completely fucked up. that was a disappointment, I actually HOPED he would step down out of sheer laziness. I wish the brothers had more affection for each other. clearly the queen loves them both, and they both love her. ugh. whatever. it was a good set up for the beginning of the book but by the end I was upset and dissatisfied. nothing new was brought to the table.
