Blood Rites
by Jim Butcher
Thomas scowled. "An errand is getting a tank of gas or picking up a carton of milk or something. It is not getting chased by flying purple pyromaniac gorillas hurling incendiary poo."
It really is amazing what a wizard will do for money. Harry Dresden, the only wizard in the Chicago phone book, once again is getting himself into a mess he might not be able to get himself out of. His friend Thomas, a member of the vampire White Court, has a personal favor to ask of him: one of Thomas' friends, an adult film producer, believes he's the intended victim of a nasty entrophy curse and yet it's the women around him who are dying. Dresden gets himself a job as a production assistant on the set of the new adult film the producer is working on to try to not only find out who is sending out the entrophy curse but to also protect any future victims. On top of all this, one of Harry's worst enemies is in town: Marva, a nasty vampire black court floozy who is out to kill him.
Once again, Butcher brings the character of Harry alive with humor, wit, and some damn good writing and this book lives up to the standards of the previous five books in the series. I highly recommend this one (but you should read the other five books first)
