The Time Keeper
by Mitch Albom
“Read the best books first, or you may not have a chance to read them at all.” --Henry David Thoreau
So, if Thoreau is right--skip over this one
Solitude and an ability to hear the time-based pleas of those of the world is Dor's punishment for lusting after time, and losing sight of life. Can he resvh out to others and teach them the importance and essence of time?
In this book Albom tries to piece together a story part fable and part morality tale, with weak results; what Albom lacks in eloquent writing he makes us for with a tidy story that is sure to satisfy some.
Why did I give it 3 stars after lambasting it? There was something sweet and sentimental about this story that struck a chord with me--perhaps it just hit me at the right time...and timing is everything, no?
