While I was not impressed with Brent Weeks debut trilogy, I decided to give this series a chance based on the premise: magic through the use of various colours. I was not disappointed. The book gives a great introduction (and more) to the magic system and sketches wonderous creations. The characters seemed a bit cliche at certain moments, but I am looking forward to reading the second part in the series.
