Beartown by Fredrik Backman

5.0

Wrapping up 2023 with a banger of a book. This story was challenging and frustrating, and not all the perspectives were wrapped up satisfyingly. However, a story of a small town and a small community reckoning with violence and community and culture, is deeply topical and engaging. The narrative style is very different than everything I’ve read this year so far. I cried, I was angry, I was hopeful. A real success of literature.
