The Castle of Tangled Magic by Sophie Anderson
5.0

I think I will always rate a book by Sophie Anderson 5 stars. I absolutely love her writing style, her wonderful ideas and the beautiful characters that she creates. I am just in awe of the books that she creates.

The Castle of Tangled Magic is so whimsical and just damn beautiful. "Magic is everywhere you believe it to be", "Magic is easy to forget when you doubt it exists." I am struggling to put into words how much I loved this book and my true feelings surrounding it.

I love the characters, Olia is so so fierce. You can really see how much she cares and loves her family, especially her sister Rosa. I loved this element of the book, I feel like it is a really important one to be explored especially due to the audience that this book is aimed at. Also, friendship. Friendship is such a key feature within this book. I love the element of friendship and being there for each other, old and new friends. Feliks was by far my favourite, he really made this book for me. I love all of the different creatures and discovering them as the story continued.

The adventure for this book was so much fun to follow. I love how Sophie Anderson has a unique way of telling a story, that has you hooked from the first page. I literally felt like I had been reading for 5 minutes and realised I had read 100 pages. I lose track of reality as soon as I dive into one of her books. My favourite thing about this book was the mention of her different stories and incorporating them into The Castle of Tangled Magic. It was so nice to see characters of old coming to light in her current work. I really hope that she continues to do this. However, every time I read about a character from another book of hers it makes me want to reread those!

I absolutely loved the ending of this book and the last 100 pages were what made it a 5 star read for me. I convinced myself bad things were going to happen. The ending of this book made me smile but it also made me cry with joy. I love the underlying message of home being where your family and friends are. I think this was so so important. I definitely recommend that people pick up this book or any other book that Sophie Anderson has written.
