Brilliant book. When it comes to vintage apocalyptic alien terror, Lovecraft wants what Wells has. If WotW came out last year, it'd make just as much of a splash as it did 1898--so many "clever twists on the classic trope" have become themselves such worn tropes that this book feels fresh.
