Lord of Embers by C.N. Crawford
4.0
This book was super fast paced. Wow. So much happened in such a short amount of time, partly because of a few quick time jumps, but just generally things moved so quickly. All action all the time.
I gave City of Thorns 5 stars and this one only 4 because I did not have the same gushy feeling I did after reading the first book, but this one was still great in its own way. I love Rowan. Her secret confessions are always hilarious. The ending of this book definitely set it up for me to be excited for the third. Wish we had a liiiitle more spice. But I love the banter during those scenes, so that makes up for it.
Tropes:
- enemies to lovers
- amnesia
- betrayal / secrets & lies
- dominant alpha
- mistaken identity
- revenge
