Woman on the Edge of Time by Marge Piercy

This book kicks ass. The author must have done a lot of research because the 1970s mental hospital hell was too real. The feminist utopia in the future that is psychically contacting the main character grew on me. At first I thought, of course, of course, how else are you going to have a future feminist utopia, but the more time I spent there the more I want to really live in it. Unfortunately there is some kind of 30 years war between us and it which doesn't sound very pleasant. Anyway. Absolutely great science fiction holding up the awful brutality of our present to a possible alternative.
