What could be said about this novel that hasn't already been said before?

Its not my favorite of his, in fact I would say that this is my second and a close one at that, but it does so much so well and will go down as one of the best YA books ever written. Its heartfelt, funny, and dramatic all in a way that only Green could write.

What I love most about him and his writing style is that he finds such a genuine way to set up a setting, something as simple as a room can feel real as you read it because of the manner in which he describes it. The characters feel like real people, and while that is something that someone could just as easily say about any other novel, its different when you read about them from Green's perspective. It's as if they were real people that are being written about now and translated to a fictional narrative, and they very well could all be based on real people which would explain their depth and incredible characterization.

If you want to have your heart broken in the best way possible and feel something, read this. If you don't have a good understanding of chronic illness or what kids with cancer go through, read this. If you think that authors owe you anything after you've put their book down and that their worlds need to live on in some way through their interpretation, read this.

Just read it. Its perfect.
