Being an adult, I know I am not the target audience for this book. However, I have read plenty of middle-grade animal fantasy (xenofiction). This was definitely not the best I have ever read.

The plot and characters lacked any sort of depth to me and every encounter felt extremely rushed. I never became attached to these characters and really didn't even like them. The big buildup to the anticlimactic ending just made it even worse.

I hate to review a self published book so negatively, but at every turn I wanted to DNF this and it was less than 200 pages long! I would, however, recommend this for children that want a short book with some adventure and light magic elements. They would be able to overlook some of the glaring issues in this work and truly the themes of the book were the redeeming quality.
