You Are a Badass at Making Money: Master the Mindset of Wealth by Jen Sincero

What have I read?!

There are many things I disagree with (and let's ignore the Universal Intelligence thing) but here are a few for the record:
1. I don't think that trying to save some money by examining (hence, investing time) the cheaper options is "financial mediocrity". I'd say that overpaying is potentially even worse because it demonstrates the lack of desire to save money (which could be invested to make more money)
2. Jen argues: "Please oh please, allow yourself to get as rich as you need to be in order to bestow upon us your greatness." Then many pages later there's this: "Poverty and staying broke are diseases that we cause with out mindsets". Yeah, social scientists talking about structural inequalities just don't realize that it's not the societal arrangements but an individual that is to be blamed. Or maybe the poor just don't trust the Universal Intelligence enough? Ok, I'm not arguing that mindset is not important because it is but come on....
3. Some examples she uses as an illustration to make a point are beyond my comprehension. For example, she provides an example of Louise Hay who healed herself from "cervical cancer via forgiveness, affirmations, visualization, nutrition, and other hippie-type stuff instead of surgery and drugs." This was used to support her argument that poverty comes from mindset (read point 2).

I almost feel the need to read the first book in the series just to learn how bad it is. Time will show if I set myself up to this.
