Fun.
Lady Calpurnia (Callie) is a 28 year old, on-the-shelf spinster. When her beloved, much younger sister falls in love and becomes betrothed to a duke during her very first Season, Callie realises she has let life pass her by. Maintaining her spotless reputation over the last ten years hasn't given her anything but regrets for wasted opportunities. She determines to turn over a new leaf and so makes a list of fun, scandalous things she wants to do, regardless of the impact on her reputation. After all, a pristine reputation hasn't gotten her anywhere so far.

Her first item is to kiss someone -passionately. Who better to complete this with than notorious rake (and her secret crush since her own come-out) Gabriel, Lord Ralston.

Gabriel is surprised when prim and proper Lady Calpurnia unexpectedly appears asking him for a kiss. He turns the situation to his advantage by making her a deal; a kiss for her help launching his newly discovered half-sister in society this season.

The two MC's were sweet to watch. Dancing around their feelings for each other. Ralston caring for and protecting Callie at every turn, yet not realising the depth of his feelings till the end. Callie so sure of her shortcommings, she can't trust that someone so "perfect" as Ralston could ever see her as attractive. So many tropey boxes ticked. It was clear that the author is a lover of the historical romance genre.

This book contains descriptive love scenes.
