I enjoyed this book a lot more than book two. The plot and characters returned to the weird, charismatic, dark, intriguing conglomeration that made book one compelling.
The Fates played integral roles in this book, as they did in book two, but imo they had a less borderline occult vibe than they did in book two. Still dark and creepy and WEIRD, but less of the crystal-ball-fortune-telling stuff.
Furthermore, in this book we finally got some actual, meaningful themes around what love is and is not, and that added so much depth to the story and the characters. The kisses were still steamier than I prefer (especially in YA) but no more or less than in previous books. Same for the seductiveness of the banter and oggling.
Overall, both for this book and the series as a whole, I enjoyed the characters and the RICH world building .... but it had enough content I'm uncomfortable with (primarily the steamy kisses and magic/source of magic/borderline occult story) that I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for readers of similar or more conservative preferences to my own.
