This is a beautiful introduction into the world and writing of James Joyce. Take your time and allow yourself to look up references you may think are outdated or irrelevant, because Joyce hides many great things in plain sight, as societal references, geography, are all time and place relevant and add so much texture and insight to the world he lived in and worked so hard to portrait.
