When We Believed in Mermaids by Barbara O'Neal
1.0
emotional sad medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: No
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

This is probably one of the worst book I ever read in my life.
The blurb is misleading, there is no mystery in the actual story, we just follow two extremely annoying sisters in New Zealand; one of the sister is looking for the other who
faked her own death and moved to New Zealand where she built a new life with a new identity
. There is also a love story between one of the sisters and a Spanish man, who is probably the most cringiest love interest ever written.
The writing is atrocious and the author seems obsessed with the body weight of every character. It is repeated 200 times that Josie is skinny but her sister Kit used to be sturdy. Very interesting.
I seriously can’t find a single positive trait about this book.
