Last Light by Terri Blackstock

I really enjoyed this book.

I'm so drawn to Terry's books because she uses flawed characters in her stories so well, and when the character is faced with a struggle, they put their faith in God to deliver them from evil and overcome their challenge that they believe He set for them. That's what made me both love and hate Deni Branning.

All the characters were flawed in some way, don't get me wrong, but Deni was the one that from the beginning made me so pissed off with her and her ambitions, mostly because they were out of vain and not of love. And I knew from the second her crappy attitude came into the light, that she would be the one to develop the most. I hoped she would, and my wish came true.

When they started suspecting the killer, there were so many supporting characters being introduced, if not for a good reason, I'd have had a fit like with Allegiant. But the thing that made these characters so endearing is their roles in the Brannings' lives. Eloise, Brad, Mark, and even Craig all impact the characters throughout the story, and you want to learn about all of them because of what interesting and beloved characters they are. For the record, I don't mean Craig, he is the worst.

I know it's a detailed review for the first in a series, but I mean it. And for once in probably many reviews, I haven't given spoilers. I'm already onto the second one, and I can't wait to go on another journey in the darkened world with the Branning clan.
