Holy smokes! This book! I just have no words!
It destroyed me.. Completely ruined me!
This story of a girl who trains to be an assassin to avenge her family is no ordinary piece in modern literature! The world, the characters, the twists and the footnotes are amazing!
I fell in love with this book after the first sentence! The voice, the language of the book speaks to me! It's different from today's books!
For the first few chapters I had no clue what was going on and than slowly the story enveloped me, hugged me gently then crushed me completely! I got more and more excited while reading, began reading just one more chapter over and over again! There were several chapters after I was like 'Wha the actual f*** is going on?!?'! It was grotesque and truely terrifying sometimes! Sometimes it was just disgusting or too detailed but these were what made it really special to me!
The characters are one of a kind! Mia Corvere is a young assassin on the road to revenge! She's sassy and strong and stands on the ground with both feet! She has great companions who I loved like Tric or Naev or the Saahiid or Ash or Hush!
And of course.. Mister Kindly! His role is not yet clear in my head but I can't wait to know more!
The world is so detailed and unique that I just want to know the whole history! The religion and the way it connects to the natural phenomena is amazing!
And the best thing... There are three suns and there are no true darkness only in every few years when all the suns go down!
I love how the full story is told by someone we don't know yet! The "little" footnotes tell little pieces of the history and the thoughts of the writer! They make it fun to read!
This is definetly not a YA, I recommend it to adults who has a strong stomach and enjoy a detailed fantasy novels!
