Scrooge You! by Brigham Vaughn

emotional lighthearted

4.5

This was the last and longest book of the series, and I think it was one of my favorites, too! I really liked Joel's character. He was really content with the life he was living, but was covering up his loneliness with how much he worked. It was nice to see him give up some of his control to Cassie with the bakery as he began to realize that he wanted to take more time to enjoy his life. Hayden was also a great character, and I really did love how grumpy he was at the beginning, and how amused Joel was by it. Joel really pulled him out of his shell and helped him heal a little, too, in regards to his complicated feelings about Christmas. Having him singing carols in an elf costume at the end felt a little far, but it was really cute that he went to the effort of surprising Joel like that. I enjoyed the character and relationship development in this book, and it had a bunch of characters from the pervious books in it, which was fun. I really liked Hayden's mom and stepdad, too. They were so supportive and loving, it was nice to see that they cared about him so much. Overall, I really enjoyed this series, and I would definitely read more of there were more of them out!
