This book is filled with strong characters in very difficult situations. It deals with very tense situations which may be triggering including homelessness and abuse. The characters are stronger than most I've read. I wasn't certain I'd like this book because I wasn't sure if the ending would be happy.  It definitely has a happy ending but you have to go through hell to get to it.
