This was more fun than I was expecting. As someone who has (only) seen the first season of the show, I went into the book already knowing a lot of the content that would appear in it, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the story. Plus, there are plenty of differences between the two to make this book interesting.

Parts of the book were legitimately hilarious, and it was cool to see the inner perspectives of the girls. Hanna was easily by favorite, followed by Emily. Even Aria, though somewhat annoying due to her superiority complex, was entertaining. Sadly, I didn't enjoy Spencer nearly as much as I did in the show, but she was an well-developed, funny character.

I am interested to see how the mysteries will unfold in later books, and see how they differ from the show.

There were a couple of things, namely Aria's and Spencer's relationships, that I had to ignore in order to properly enjoy the book, but that was easy enough. All in all, it was a fun read.
