The Child in Time
by Ian McEwan
An absolutely stunning tale of loss. As always with McEwan, the prose is gorgeous enough to make the reader envious. A prime example of his deep insights into male-female relationships. One only needs to get to the end of the first chapter to confirm that this will be a unique and powerful experience. The closing paragraph is one of the most memorable of any novel I've read.
