"he wasn't even sure he was alive, because he was living like a dead man. . .but i was sure about me, about everything, surer than he could ever be, sure of my life and sure of the death i had waiting for me. yes, that was all i had."

— a book that met all my expectations and was so intruiging i couldnt put it down!! a perfect summer read, camus' description of oppressive heat was an interesting window into how absurdists see the world and society around them. what stuck with me the most was the main characters rejection of religion throughout the book, and how he refused something that many people use to give meaning to their lives, but also use it to undermine the oppression and suffering throughout the world. a must read classic!!
