I don’t care if some people call this cliché—that's true, but it’s a well-written cliché. The use of famous lines from the classics? The symbolism of the Achlys? The way they tell everything, especially from Ophelia’s perspective? I’m all in for it!
I fell in love with this book and its characters. My favorite thing is their email exchanges. I love that they’re on the same humor wavelength lol they deserve and suit each other so much!

"Forget dying for her. I'd live for her. I feel like I could overcome all the darkness inside if only it meant I'd get a life in her company in return. "
The lines are so smooth and so swoon-worthy that sometimes I have to put it down because where the hell did they pull that from??? I’m giggling, kicking my feet. Alex takes the cake. 😭
The reveal of the villain might be a little underwhelming for me, but I think there will be more to it, given how the first book ended. So I will reserve my judgment for that once the second book is out.
Just a warning for everyone who would want to read this—the cliffhanger is insane. Honestly, I have no one to blame but myself because I knew the second book wasn’t out yet, but I still dove right into it.
No regrets, though. I will now (im)patiently wait for the second part of Ophelia and Alex’s story.
