I finally finished The Grandest Game after being stuck in a bit of a reading slump, and while this one didn’t fully sweep me off my feet, I still had fun returning to Jennifer Lynn Barnes’ twisty world!
I’ll be honest — the beginning hooked me, but the middle felt a little slow for me. I think part of it is that I’m so used to Avery and the Hawthorne brothers (still obsessed with them, let’s be real 💌) that meeting all these new characters took me a while to adjust to.
BUT! Once the plot started picking up near the end, it had me intrigued again! And best believe I’ll be picking up Glorious Rivals because I need to know what happens next 👀
( I loved seeing some of the og characters again 🥹 I missed them so much)
Also... Gigi has my heart. She’s chaotic, energetic, clever, and somehow exactly who I’d be in this story. Easily my fav 🩷
