I was drawn in to this story from the first pages. I found it difficult to stop reading. I can't speak to the trans aspects of the story as I am not trans. But from my perspective it was done well and was written in a way that I was hoping Amanda would find a happy ending and was angry at those who wronged her.

I did struggle with some aspects related to actions and the setting (
who walks miles in the Georgia heat in early fall?
). I was also taken out a bit with how the timeline flowed and how we skipped days in Amanda's life. I think that's a me issue - I like to see everything happen and not be told about it. But these were minor issues with the book. Overall, it was well written and a great read.
