Summer Wars, Part 1 by Mamoru Hosoda

3.0

Everyone keeps telling me I have to watch Summer Wars it's the best movie ever, but I keep putting it off because of who I am as a person. So I was pretty excited when I found the manga in the library, seeing as how they were supposed to be pretty identical.

Honestly, I left disappointed. It wasn't /bad/ it just didn't blow me away like people said it would. I don't know if it was my high expectations or what, but this series just didn't do it for me.

Keeping the rating at three stars for a few reasons:
the art was cute and well done
the pacing was set very nicely
none of the characters were outright obnoxious (there were some that were mildly annoying but that was who they were so I lived with it)
the general idea was really neat

I think I expected more of the game and less of the real life. So when the action mostly took place outside of the game, it wasn't what I wanted.

I'd still recommend it to others, but I think when people told me it was the best thing ever, they were exaggerating.
