I respected this novel more than I actually enjoyed it, but I do think it's very well-written and conceived. The characterization is nuanced and realistic, and the story's setting compels so much drama and, frankly, made me feel better informed on one of the major contemporary issues of our time. The ending was especially impactful and appropriate. I really enjoyed the sense of fatalism and the layers of fiction and reality crashing in on each other, as though our conceptions of the world and the stories we create inevitably fashion real-world consequences. There were some fascinating narrative choices as well, such as switching from prose to script and changing the tense for the final chapter.
Overall a good novel that I would recommend, albeit one that I didn't connect with very deeply.
