After a bad injury, hockey player Xander finds himself at a physical rehab in the mountains. The allure of quiet small town Azalea Creek is the perfect backdrop to get things back in order, but the rehab owner's twin sister is the best part of Xander's stay.

Rain is the sassy twin, quick to verbally spar her way through life. After catching the eye of a recovering hockey player at her sister's rehab, Rain knows there's something about Xander that's different. She's been hurt before, worse than Xander can imagine, but he's determined to prove their kind of love is once in a lifetime. As he unravels the many layers built around Rain, her haunted past comes back life and thr3atens their future.

After reading her twin's story in Lodged, getting to know Rain better was great! The whole MacAllister family is awesome, but Granny is a real treat to read about. I loved how you get to see Serene Lookout through Xander's perspective and experience Azalea Creek with fresh eyes. His family is also a fantastic addition to the story, and any father willing to throw hands to protect the love of his son's life is A-okay in my world! Xander and Rain may have met by chance, but reading their story gives such a heavy feeling of fate and destiny. How well these two mesh should be illegal, but instead, we are treated to a swoony and spicy love story that triumphs over all else.
