fun book to read. super corny though. every time
violet was thirsting over xaden
i had to hold myself back from cringing (i did not succeed). if that's how straight actually flirt then bless their hearts...maybe the cishet girlies like that shit but i'm very queer so no thank you. as for the writing, sometimes i liked it but most of the time it felt like a middle schooler was the one writing the story. the characters are supposed to be in their late teens and early-to-mid twenties but act like they're twelve half the time...i've definitely read some fanfics better than this book but i don't regret reading it. i know it's a book for young adults like myself, and i wouldn't say it's a completely awful book that nobody should ever read, but it definitely didn't live up to its full potential. also, the book was very, very predictable. like, there wasn't a single thing i wasn't able to predict, even the ending. despite all of its flaws, i did enjoy it to a certain extent and i'm looking forward to reading the second book, especially after that final plot twist.
r.i.p. liam, you were a real one and i'm gonna miss you :(
p.s. take a shot every time violet mentions
xaden’s gold-speckled onyx eyes
…be ready to get alcohol poisoning!
p.p.s. i envisioned xaden’s eyebrow having a six-pack by the end of the book from the amount of times the author made him raise it lmao
