now listen, i love bell hooks as much as the next queer feminist, but there were times while i was reading this that i simply had to laugh. don’t get me wrong, there are some meaningful lessons in these pages and i will be recommending this book to people, but i will be recommending it with the caveat that you can ignore her when she starts talking about angels lmao

there were also some pretty archaic views on men/women and masculinity/femininity, but maybe we can chalk that up to the times??
