Ok mixed reviews a plenty up in here. Both sides are a bit extreme and this book is somewhere between ok and good.
There's some pretty glaring issues for me that stop it from being better than good or anywhere near really good/amazing. The first of these being my general dislike of the FMC. She's stuck up, naive, and makes frustratingly bad decisions. The second is the bland romance that just doesn't really make any sense other than essentially forced proximity. The third iswhy would you not work WITH your sister. Too many secrets and not enough trust for my sisterly relationships
Now for the good. This book is beautifully written with complex metaphors and vivid descriptions. It is extremely unique with lots of twists and turns throughout the story. Outside of the FMC the characters are interesting and complex. The book had me turning pages to unravel the mystery and multiple times left me shocked/surprised.
Overall a decent book that was a fun dip into some slightly darker fantasy that lots of people enjoyed.
