The Art of Memory Collecting
by Martina Calvi
I loved the idea of this book, as I am very sentimental and would love to keep memories in other ways than just my journals and boxes, but I was a little disappointed. It didn't feel like the projects were unique or even very different from each other (framing paper memories was one project idea... and so was making and framing a collage of paper memories). A lot of the tips or how tos seemed like they were there just to fill in space, and not to actually contribute to the project. A lot of them were repetitive as well, multiple "giftable" projects were suggested to have the same title "Us" (along with some others). I feel like there's a lot more phrases you could use!
Also, small complaint, there were a few spelling and grammar errors (ex. "uses ticky tape" instead of "use sticky tape" on page 136) that were jarring to see in a print book. The author is from social media so I'm not sure if she had a separate editor but I wish those errors would have been caught before print.
3.5 stars though because I did like a lot of the ideas and I'm glad to see a new published papercrafty book in stores!
