3,096 Days
by Jill Kreuer, Natascha Kampusch
It is hard, almost impossible to rate book like this. Book where there is so much violence and terror.
When she was just a child she had really good relationship with her grandmother. She used to see her every day and almost every day was like a holiday for her. She worked in the garden, rode a bike and played with friends from the street.
But then, she grew up. All that became very boring to her. She even had a fight with her grandmother but everything was OK in the end. Her grandmother's house was still a place where she could go any time she wanted and it was kinda like her shelter.
Her parents weren't happy together. They fought a lot, and when they finally splat up Natascha had really bad time. Her mother loved her but her mother wasn't emotional person. She kept all the pain from her life inside of her. She tried to teach Natascha to do the same. But Natascha was nice, funny and open child.
Her mother sometimes hit her and started to tell her everything bad about Natascha. How fat she is, how she doesn't know a thing... Maybe that is why the kidnapper chose her. Maybe because Natascha felt like she is a stranger to her own mother. Maybe she flet like she wasn't good enough for anything at all.
When Priklopil imprisoned her, she tried to realize why her? She wasn't typical, nice, sweet girl. She had brown hair, she was chubby and had low self-esteem.
Priklopil always told her that nobody wants her. That he did her a favor for taking her away from her parents. He lied so she would be less of a fighter.
But he didn't knew Natascha at all. I think she was greater fighter than anyone even though she was just a child when he kidnapped her.
She is very smart and intelligent. She figured out how Priklopil's world function. And her escape, was the greatest and the bravest thing she did in her 18 years of life.dr
