Dogtown by Katherine Applegate, Gennifer Choldenko

I don’t think it would be a surprise to anyone who knows me that I loved a book called “Dogtown”. It is a very sweet sometimes sad story about a shelter that not only has real dogs but also robot dogs all of whom have been abandoned by their humans. We follow them through what it takes for them to find their forever home and also how they ended up in the shelter in the first place. I read this aloud with my 10 and 11 year old dog loving boys and they loved it as well. It’s is a heart-warming story that any dog lover will enjoy. Chance was definitely a favorite of mine but my youngest really liked Metal Head, lol. They were both already asking if there was going to be a second book.
