Power Surge by Kennedy L. Mitchell

5.0

Warning: This is a series where the books are in continuation. If you haven’t read the first book, then there may be SPOILERS in the review.

Synopsis:
Randi is the President of the USA now. And Trey, well, he has recovered following the incidents in the previous book. But with greater responsibility comes bigger problems, concerning the presidency as well as her family. Will Randi and Trey be able to navigate the murky waters of politics, with a war coming and still be able to take their relationship to the next level?

Review:
Being the President of the United States of America is no small job, but having not one but two targets on your back definitely make the job tougher. And not being aware of where the attacks might come from? This one started with a prologue more mysterious than the one in Book Three of the series – [b:Power Switch|51272205|Power Switch (Power Play, #3)|Kennedy L. Mitchell|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1586181366l/51272205._SY75_.jpg|73424312]. From an Unknown’s perspective. That Unknown character is a nutcase and a whackjob of a man who increased my level of excitement and the corresponding level of danger in the book!

The story started on a sombre note. This book is more insightful as far as Trey’s emotions are concerned. It’s not easy functioning as a happy-go-lucky man all time, every time, especially after all he had to go through in his life up to this point. There’s a new agent on the team, a Mr Smith who’s as lethal as they come, but there’s something off about him. Then there’s a new beta team, what with Randi being the President now. But are they all trustworthy?

What I love most about this entire series is how relatable a character [a:Kennedy L. Mitchell|15505700|Kennedy L. Mitchell|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1542508144p2/15505700.jpg] has created in Randi Sawyer. It has so many laugh-out-loud moments, especially in the form of Randi’s thoughts ending in incomprehensible phrases. And considering all the happenings of the past few years and the Presidential elections coming up for real later this year in the US of A, the Russian and Middle-East angle in this book is damn interesting!

Trouble and Mess are the perfect pair, and I am amazed at how the author managed to ramp up the level of hotness even with all the nail-biting tension there was. Another thing that I want to mention here is how fitting the titles of all the books in this series are. The ending stole my breath away, while the cliffhanger made me so damn eager for the final book – [b:Power Play Series Book 5|51797943|Power Term (Power Play, #5)|Kennedy L. I recommend this series and am definitely going to reread all the books together, most probably a year from now.

Thank you to InkSlinger PR for an e-ARC of the book.
