Y'all I get the hype about the Chestnut Springs series, but I feel like we're really sleeping on the Gold Rush Ranch series. I'm obsessed with Billie. I mean, she literally whipped a man in the ass with a horse whip because he swore it didn't hurt. I fell in love right then and there. Vaughn wasn't so bad either. Though I did want to knock some sense into him toward the end there. Even now, I'm making a yuck face. I was so glad Cole (yes, Cole) talked some sense into him.

This book (and series) is for the horse girls. We actually get a lot of Double Diablo in this book. We see how Billie earns his trust, how he helps Billie heal, and more. It's literally the relationship all the horse girls dreamed of having with a horse growing up. Hell, between this and A Photo Finish (yes, I've already finished that book too), I want to go and groom a horse to work out my own stress.

This is definitely going to be a book I'll be recommending to everyone. There's humor (so much humor with Billie), heavy topics (but not TOO heavy), and romance. It really just checks all the boxes of what I want in a read.
